SisterLove takes your trust seriously. It is our mission to provide you access to reliable, relevant and accurate information about HIV/AIDS and other issues that address your sexual and reproductive health and rights. Each day the Internet seems to grow. While there are many exemplary websites that provide invaluable information and resources, some are not as helpful and can be harmful.

Each website listed on SisterWisdom has been determined to meet the resource selection criteria listed below. We share our selection criteria with you for your information and as an expression of our ultimate commitment to you.  We strive to have your trust and are determined to respect that trust.

If you believe that a resource listed here does not meet the following criteria we hope that you will contact us. We also ask that you refer to these criteria when considering a website to recommend to us for inclusion on SisterWisdom.

 

CRITERIA FOR RESOURCES LISTED ON SISTERWISDOM

To insure the validity of resources to be listed on SisterWisdom, each potential resource will be required to meet each of the following criteria:

  1. Comes from a reliable source, known entity, or is determined to be reliable by a representative of SisterLove, Inc.

    A reliable source is one that is associated with a known organization, institution, business or individual. A ‘known’ entity is one that is known by an employee, volunteer or associate of SisterLove, Inc..

    Websites owned or managed by an unknown organization, institution, business or individual will be confirmed by an employee, volunteer or associate of SisterLove, Inc. Confirmation can be accomplished by phone, email or postal mail.

  2. Reflects and/or respect the culture of Black women and/or Black people.
    ..

  3. Acknowledges the existence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) .
    ..

  4. Expresses, acknowledges, or respects the humanity of all people regardless of ethnicity, culture, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, religion, faith, spirituality or the lack of a system of belief .

  5. Addresses or refers to the reproductive health and/or rights of individuals, especially those of Black women and/or women.
    ..

  6. Provides an obvious service or useful information to benefit those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS or other reproductive/sexual health conditions that exceeds the need to market a product or service or sustain a for-profit venture (generate a profit).
